Walnut Creek Police released images captured by an ATM’s security camera of one of two men who kidnapped a woman in a terrifying robbery spree Nov. 7.
Police said the 57-year-old woman was abducted while walking to her car after work in the Shadelands Business Park area of Walnut Creek at 7:30 p.m. The men forced her into her car, placed a blindfold over her eyes, and drove her around Contra Costa County making an unspecified number of stops at ATMs to withdraw cash.
The woman was later released approximately four hours later at an isolated area in the Oakland Hills near the Caldecott Tunnel where she managed free herself and call 911, Walnut Creek Police said.

The victim was treated for injuries at a hospital and is “doing well,” police said. The two kidnappers escaped in a older dark colored pick-up truck with a loud muffler.
Police said a security camera at the Provident Credit Union in Walnut Creek’s Countrywood Shopping Center captured one of the kidnappers withdrawing cash from the drive-thru ATM at 9:23 p.m.
Police believe the man shown in the image may have gone by the name “Aubrey” and was described as a Caucasian man in his early to mid-twenties, 5-foot-11, and weighing 185-190 pounds with short dark hair.
The second suspect may have been referred to as “David” and was also a Caucasian man in his early to mid-twenties, standing 5-foot-9, weighting 150 lbs with a slight build. Police said he wore a mask in the attack to cover his face during the kidnapping. Investigators were also reviewing additional footage collected from other ATMs in the area that were visited by the kidnappers.
